ADP: November Sees 307,000 New Private-Sector Jobs

Ahead of this morning’s weekly Initial Claims report by the Labor Department and Friday’s Employment report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, ADP, Roseland, N.J., said private-sector employment increased by 307,000 jobs from October to November.

The November ADP National Employment Report said by company size, small businesses (1-49 employees) added 110,000 jobs; medium businesses (50-499 employees) added 139,000 jobs; and large businesses added 58,000 jobs.

By sector, goods-producing businesses added 31,000 jobs; service-providing businesses added 276,000 jobs; and franchise businesses added 33,700 jobs.

“While November saw employment gains, the pace continues to slow,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “Job growth remained positive across all industries and sizes.”

The initial claims report comes out this morning at 8:30 a.m. ET; the employment report comes out Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET. Mortgage Bankers Association Chief Economist Mike Fratantoni will provide commentary on the Friday jobs report for MBA NewsLink.
