Although the volume of home-secured credit lines opened during the fourth quarter was significantly lower than a year earlier, the outlook is bright for this year.
U.S. lenders originated 240,564 home-equity lines of credit for $43.6 billion during the three months ended December 31, according to data reported Thursday by ATTOM.
