Mortgage REITs See Jump in Loan Repayments in 2Q, Remain On Lending Sidelines

The major mortgage REITs saw loan repayments skyrocket in the second quarter by nearly 80% when compared with the first. This contributed to the 2.5% reduction in their collective portfolios to $92.67 billion.
