Challenges Ahead as Home Sales, Mortgages, Refinances Continue to Fall

Mortgage applications fell for the third week in row, reaching their lowest level since 2000, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported Wednesday. Meanwhile, the National Association of Realtors reported Wednesday that the streak of falling sales of existing homes stretched into a fifth month in June.
