Home Prices, Values Up; Inventories Down; Credit Scores Improve

Zillow, Seattle, said despite slowing home price growth, home buyers are still feeling the pinch because of low housing inventories and rising rents. In a separate report, Redfin, Seattle, said home price value continued to accelerate, reaching their highest levels since July 2018.

November Existing Home Sales Drop 1.7%

Existing home sales fell in November, the National Association of Realtors reported yesterday, putting a damper on what had otherwise been a strong month for housing market performance.

CoreLogic, Irvine, Calif., said September home price growth slowed nationally to 3.5% from a year ago and to 0.4% from August. However, a separate report from Black Knight, Jacksonville, Fla., said September national home price appreciation saw its largest single-month increase in nearly two years.

Veros Sees U.S. Real Estate Appreciation Up 3.7% by Q3 2020

Veros Real Estate Solutions, Santa Ana, Calif., released its third quarter forecast, project average appreciation rate for residential real estate in the nation’s largest 100 housing markets to increase by 3.7 percent through September 2020, unchanged from the first and second quarters this year.
