Billionaire Shopping Mall Developer David Simon Dead at 64, Following Cancer Battle

David Simon, president and CEO of Simon Property Group, has died at 64 following a battle with cancer, the company announced Monday.

The company’s board of directors described Simon as “the singular leader who built Simon Property Group into the largest and most admired retail real estate company in the world” and said he “passed away peacefully” Sunday, surrounded by his family after a “courageous battle with cancer.”
