Agency Purchase-Mortgage Business Holds Steady in Early 2026

Some $188.42 billion of purchase mortgages were included in agency mortgage-backed securities issued during the first three months of 2026, according to a new Inside Mortgage Finance analysis of agency MBS loan-level disclosures. That was a 0.7% increase from the first quarter of 2025.
