MBA’s Liz Facemire Honored in National Mortgage Professional’s 40 Under 40
MBA’s Liz Facemire earned a position on National Mortgage Professional magazine’s annual “40 Under 40” list of high-achieving young mortgage professionals.
Facemire serves as MBA’s associate vice president of state government affairs.
“From the moment she arrived at MBA, Liz has impressed both the staff and members with her command of the issues and indefatigable advocacy efforts,” MBA Vice President of State Government Affairs and Industry Relations William Kooper said. “During her first couple of years at MBA she has racked up an impressive string of accomplishments.”
In the article, National Mortgage Professional said the 40 honorees “bring fresh ideas, bold energy, and a fearless approach to problem-solving that pushes the industry forward.”
Facemire told the magazine she is committed to advancing and expanding the state program at MBA. “Building on the strong foundation established by my leadership team and predecessors, I aim to deepen the strategic partnerships MBA has cultivated with state-level stakeholders,” she said.
“I recognize that the state government serves as a critical pipeline for emerging policy leaders, many of whom advance to influential positions at the federal level,” Facemire continued. “This presents a significant opportunity for our industry to engage proactively. By investing in early education and relationship-building at the state level, we can shape policy dialogue, foster informed decision-making, and establish the MBA as a trusted resource for policymakers throughout their careers.”
Facemire joined MBA in 2023 to help lead the association’s policy and advocacy engagement at the state and local levels. She oversees the State Legislative and Regulatory Committee and its subgroups, guiding strategy across a broad range of issues including origination, servicing, compliance, data security and AI. She also leads MBA’s efforts to expand state and local advocacy on commercial/multifamily policy and continues to strengthen MBA’s engagement with state Attorneys General. Her MBA colleagues elected her MBA’s 2025 Employee of the Year.
In October, the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association awarded its annual Robert G. Boucher Award to Facemire at its annual convention.
“Liz has been an invaluable partner to CMLA this year, providing critical guidance and support on legislative matters that impact our state, including the recent AI bill,” the association said in a statement. “Her professionalism, expertise, and responsiveness have ensured that CMLA’s voice is heard, helping us advocate effectively for policies that strengthen the mortgage industry and protect homeowners.”
Prior to joining MBA, Facemire held multiple roles at Rocket Mortgage, including loan originator, underwriter and state policy lobbyist.
Kooper noted what a “terrific” colleague Facemire is. “We’re lucky indeed to have her on the team,” he added.
