
MBA, Industry Groups Send Letter on Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act
The Mortgage Bankers Association, along with a number of other trade associations, sent a letter to leadership of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs and the House Committee on Financial Services, expressing strong support for the reintroduction of the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act.

Independent Mortgage Bankers Post Net Production Profits in 2024
Independent mortgage banks and mortgage subsidiaries of chartered banks reported an average profit of $443 on each loan they originated in 2024, up from an average loss of $1,056 per loan in 2023.

March New Home Purchase Mortgage Applications Increased 5.5%
The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Builder Application Survey (BAS) data for March 2025 shows mortgage applications for new home purchases increased 5.5% compared from a year ago. Compared to February 2025, applications increased by 14%. This change does not include any adjustment for typical seasonal patterns.
