Seth Sprague Presented with CMB Society’s Rosser Lifetime Achievement Award

PHILADELPHIA–The Certified Mortgage Banker Society presented Seth Sprague, CMB®, Director of Mortgage Banking Consulting Services at Richey May, with its E. Michael Rosser, CMB, MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award here at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s 2023 Annual Convention & Expo.

“Seth has had a remarkable impact on the CMB Society through his contributions to the School of Mortgage Banking Program and his invaluable expertise on mortgage strategy, profitability, and operations. His active engagement in industry events and association work demonstrates his commitment to helping the next generation of mortgage professionals,” said Len Patton, CMB, 2023 CMB Society Chair. “He has the Society’s unwavering admiration, and we are truly honored to present him with this year’s award.”

Sprague has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Along with leading the Mortgage Banking Consulting Services Practice, he also serves as a strategic leader for the Richey May suite of services. Sprague previously served as chair of the CMB Society and currently serves on numerous MBA committees, including the Financial Management Steering Committee and Secondary & Capital Markets Committee.

Prior to his current role at Richey May, Sprague was a principal at the STRATMOR Group. Sprague also served 10 years of his career at SunTrust Mortgage as the Senior Vice President, Servicing Asset Manager, where he developed and led their servicing rights valuation team. He has also served as the Executive Vice President of Trading & Analytics at Phoenix Capital.

During his career, Sprague has drawn from his decades of experience to educate the next generation of mortgage banking and real estate finance professionals. In 2007, Sprague began instructing the MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB) program and has taught over 75 courses for SOMB. He has also taught the “Servicing/MSR Day” curriculum and “The Secondary Market” for the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America.

The E. Michael Rosser, CMB, MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding service to the Association, Certified Mortgage Bankers Society, and the real estate finance industry.
