MBA Opens Doors Foundation Kicks Off 2023 Fundraising Season with Nearly $2.7 Million in Donations

The MBA Opens Doors Foundation announced it received nearly $2.7 million in corporate and individual donations during its FY 2023 fundraising campaign, held September 7-8.

The proceeds will support the foundation’s mission of helping vulnerable families with critically ill or injured children stay in their homes while their child is in treatment.

“I am very proud of my colleagues in the real estate finance industry,” said Debra W. Still, President & CEO of Pulte Financial Services and Chairman of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation Board of Directors. “This year’s Opens Doors’ annual appeal comes at a time when the industry is managing a major shift in the market. But even amid these challenging times, the industry has stepped up to support the work of the Foundation in an extraordinary way. This strong support ensures that we will be able to help thousands of families in the coming year.”

Over the two-day campaign, Opens Doors received pledges totaling $2,695,500, including $2,139,000 in corporate pledges along with $556,500 in personal pledges. Eight companies pledged $100,000 or more in support, led by CMG Financial, which pledged $250,000 to the campaign. Other companies pledging $100,000 or more were: Radian Group Inc., AmeriHome Mortgage, Arch MI, Citizens Bank, Freedom Mortgage, Lennar Mortgage, and PennyMac Financial Services. An additional seven companies pledged $50,000 and 30 others pledged $25,000 or more. Particularly inspiring were personal pledges, which, at $556,500, topped last year’s personal commitments.

“It is incredibly inspiring to work with people who believe in what we do to their very core,” said Deborah E. Dubois, President of MBA Opens Doors Foundation. “So many companies and individuals stepped in with critical funds that will help us lay the groundwork for 2023. They also weighed in with inspiration and spirit, which contributed greatly to the campaign’s momentum.”

Corporate and individual donors who commit to supporting the Foundation at the $25,000-or-more level will be recognized at MBA’s 2022 Annual Convention & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 23-26.

The MBA Opens Doors Foundation, through its Home Grant Program, provides relief in a time of personal crisis. The Home Grant Program is a critical part of a family’s support structure, especially when a parent or guardian must take unpaid leave to be with a child. Grants of up to $2,500 are made monthly to families in need of mortgage or rental payment assistance. The Foundation has provided more than $17 million in mortgage and rental payment assistance to more than 10,000 families since its inception in 2011.
