Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., keynotes the Opening General Session at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Annual Convention & Expo on Monday, Oct. 24 at 8:30 a.m. CT.
Ryan and political commentator A.B. Stoddard of RealClearPolitics take the Main Stage for a timely interview to discuss the political landscape and provide electoral analysis. Ryan was 54th Speaker of the House of Representatives. He was first elected to the House in 1998. From October 2015 to January 2019, he was the youngest speaker in nearly 150 years. During his tenure, he spearheaded efforts to reform our nation’s tax code for the first time in a generation, rebuild the country’s national defense, expand domestic energy production, combat the opioid epidemic, reform our criminal justice system and promote economic opportunity. After leaving Congress in 2019, he was named Chairman of the Board of Directors of Executive Network Partnering Corp. and in 2021, he was named as a partner at Solamere Capital.
