Opening General Session: The Political Landscape

Expert political commentator A.B. Stoddard of RealClearPolitics takes the Main Stage for a timely interview with the 54th Speaker of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, to discuss the political landscape and provide electoral analysis. The session begins with opening remarks from 2023 MBA Chairman Matt Rocco and CEO Bob Broeksmit, who provide updates on the state of the industry and the priorities the association is pursuing on behalf of its members.

General Session: Housing’s Leading Voices

Integral to the housing finance system, the policies of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Federal Housing Administration and Ginnie Mae are pivotal for our industry. MBA is pleased to welcome key leaders from each to the Main Stage to discuss their agencies’ upcoming priorities. Panelists include FHA Commissioner Julia Gordon; Ginnie Mae President Alanna McCargo and FHFA Director Sandra Thompson, moderated by MBA Chairman-Elect Mark Jones.

General Session: Lessons from Coach K, Duke Basketball Legend

Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K) sits down with 2023 MBA Chairman Matt Rocco to discuss his keys to success, including motivational techniques, leadership skills, teamwork strategies, and the impact of trust and communication. He also shares insights from his work with Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and the recently established Fuqua/Coach K Center of Leadership & Ethics, where he serves as executive-in-residence. The session includes recognition of the MBA’s Opens Doors Foundation award recipients.

General Session: Navigating Economic Uncertainty

MBA President & CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB, and MBA Chief Economist Mike Fratantoni sit down with former Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Roger Ferguson. As President and CEO of TIAA he led the company and its 17,000 employees through the challenges of the pandemic and social unrest.

mPower Event: Rita Moreno, A Legendary Life

MBA COO and Founder of mPower Marcia Davies interviews legendary star Rita Moreno—recipient of the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards). She is also a New York Times best-selling author with her first book, Rita Moreno: A Memoir published by Celebra Books. Moreno received the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush and the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama.
