High-Risk Lending Edges Up at Fannie and Freddie

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac widened their credit windows somewhat in 2021 after going risk-averse the previous year, according to a new analysis by Inside Mortgage Trends. But low-risk lending still dominated the government-sponsored enterprises’ business.
