The Week Ahead, Feb. 22, 2022: MBA Servicing Solutions Conference & Expo and 3 Other Things to Know

Here’s what else is happening in the real estate finance world this week:

First, MBA and Housing/Economic Reports. It’s another busy week for MBA. Today (Tuesday), MBA releases its monthly Loan Monitoring Survey (formerly the Weekly Forbearance and Call Volume Survey). MBA Vice President of Industry Analysis Marina Walsh, CMB, will provide commentary and analysis.

On Wednesday, MBA releases its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey, with commentary and analysis from MBA Associate Vice President of Economic and Industry Forecasting Joel Kan.

Tuesday: MBA Loan Monitoring Survey; S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Indices; Consumer Confidence; Philadelphia Fed Non-Manufacturing Survey; Richmond Fed Survey

Second, Congress. The House and Senate are in recess this week, returning on Feb. 28.

Looking ahead, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will visit Capitol Hill next month to deliver the Fed’s Semi-Annual Monetary Policy Report to Congress. Powell will appear before the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday, Mar. 2 and before the Senate Banking Committee on Thursday, Mar. 3. More details to come as the dates approach.
