MORPAC Commemorates 50 Years

MORPAC marked 50 years of achievements on Monday, October 18, at the Advocacy Reception during the recent MBA Annual Convention & Expo in San Diego.

Established in 1971, MORPAC is MBA’s federal, bi-partisan Political Action Committee. It is the only PAC that directly represents the interests of the entire real estate finance industry on Capitol Hill. MORPAC is currently ranked as a top ten national trade association PAC – in terms of both receipts and contributions distributed.

Bill Killmer

”For five decades, MORPAC’s broad base of contributors have provided the political muscle that ensures our industry has a seat at the Washington public policy table on issues that impact MBA members and their customers, end users and partners,” said Bill Killmer, MBA Senior Vice President of Legislative and Political Affairs. “As we reach this important milestone, we would like to thank all of MORPAC’s supporters over the past 50 years for recognizing the important role that MORPAC plays for our industry.”

Jeff Taylor

“With more than $1.4 million raised in the 2022 election cycle, MORPAC’s support of congressional candidates and incumbents that support our industry has been a critical tool utilized by the MBA staff for decades to engage daily with lawmakers on key policy priorities,” said Jeff Taylor, MORPAC Chair and Founder & Managing Director of Mphasis Digital Risk.

This celebration of MORPAC’s birthday will continue with future virtual and in-person events throughout the rest of this year and 2022.

MORPAC raises personal, voluntary contributions from MBA’s eligible membership. Federal law prohibits soliciting contributions from ineligible individuals.
