MBA NEWSLINK: What are some key trends your company is tracking?

SEYFARTH: Seyfarth’s Real Estate Finance team is at the forefront of responding to the wide-scale and fast-moving disruption caused by COVID-19, while also continuing to focus on other rapidly evolving areas, including infrastructure investment and construction, data centers, Delaware Statutory Trusts, health care, cannabis, cybersecurity, blockchain technology and opportunity zone funds.

Alongside companion practice group members, our team meets regularly to share best practices and discuss industry related legal matters and recent developments, such as Oregon HB 4204, LIBOR transition, CFIUS, HVCRE and state-specific trends that impact our clients’ lending and borrowing positions.

NEWSLINK: Why did your company join the Mortgage Bankers Association?

SEYFARTH: MBA’s strong presence in the real estate finance industry, valuable networking opportunities, timely insights and other resources, were key drivers of our membership.

NEWSLINK: How has being an MBA Premier Member benefited your company?

SEYFARTH: During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the access to and ability to participate in various webinars and lobbying activities has been extremely valuable and served as a great way to hear broader perspectives from various industry participants.

We look forward to increased involvement on committees, as well as speaking opportunities at conferences and webinars.
