MBA Cancels Technology Solutions Conference
The Mortgage Bankers Association this afternoon announced it canceled its Technology Solutions Conference & Expo in Los Angeles out of concerns stemming from the spreading coronavirus crisis.
The Conference was scheduled to take place Mar. 29-Apr. 1 in Los Angeles.
“In an abundance of care for our members, conference attendees and staff, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Technology Solutions Conference & Expo,” wrote Marcia Davies, MBA Chief Operating Officer, in a communication to Tech Conference participants. “We made this decision in light of the continued uncertainties about the coronavirus (COVID-19), and the recent state of emergency declared for both the State of California and the County of Los Angeles.”
Davies said MBA will automatically refund all registration, sponsorship, exhibit and affiliate space payments.
“We ask for your patience as we work through the administrative processes required to do so,” Davies said. “We understand that the Technology Solutions Conference & Expo provides you with the information you need to support and grow your business. With that in mind, we will be providing opportunities for you to get this information virtually, through MBA webinars, in the months ahead. Please stay tuned for additional information regarding our plans to get you this valuable content.”
The MBA Mid-Winter Housing Finance Conference, which runs Mar. 8-11 in Avon, Colo., will go on as scheduled. Broeksmit said all other conferences, meetings and education events are being evaluated on an individual basis.
MBA is also actively monitoring latest information on the coronavirus from global, federal and local health authorities, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). MBA has created a page on its website, https://www.mba.org/news-research-and-resources/mba-coronavirus-(covid-19)-updates, to assist MBA members with development within the Association as well as providing other resources.
MBA has included several helpful web links on the page, including the following:

“We continue to monitor events and information from public health authorities and will update our schedule and policy as events warrant,” MBA said.
