The Changing Laws on Remote Online Notarization

The coronavirus has forced county recording clerks, mortgage lenders and the title insurance industry to expedite rules to permit remote online notarization closings under strict guidelines. In March, the Senate and House introduced bills to authorize all U.S. notaries to perform RON. The National Association of Realtors, the Mortgage Bankers Association and ALTA all support the bills, as does MISMO.
