#CREF23: Navigating Economic Uncertainty With Roger Ferguson
Economist, corporate executive and finance expert Roger Ferguson will open the MBA Commercial/Multifamily Finance Convention & Expo in February.
As President and CEO of TIAA, Ferguson led the company’s 17,000 employees through the challenges of the pandemic and social unrest. Previously vice chairman of the Federal Reserve for nearly 10 years, he steered the country’s economy through the massive financial aftershock of September 11. Ferguson will share his insights on the economy and leading in uncertain times, identifying three crises we have seen–health, social justice and economic–and how they intertwine.
Ferguson will lay out three crucial steps for an actionable way forward: recognizing lessons learned, identifying how your company can be part of the solution in the short- and long term and use of government resources. He will also share his vision on the importance of infrastructure, education, fintech, a greener economy and diversity, equity and inclusion.
The session will begin with opening remarks from MBA 2023 Chairman Matt Rocco and MBA President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB, who will provide updates on the state of the industry and the priorities the association is pursuing on behalf of its members.
