MBA Chairman Matt Rocco Moves to Colliers Mortgage
Mortgage Bankers Association 2023 Chairman Matt Rocco has made a career move.
Colliers Mortgage, the debt financing arm of Colliers U.S., hired Rocco as its President. He will work with the Colliers Mortgage team to further build its business across the country and secure additional licenses and lenders.
In addition to serving as MBA 2023 Chairman, Rocco is a member of MBA’s Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors, Residential/Single-Family Board of Governors and Origination Council.
“One guarantee in our industry is that there is always change,” Rocco said in a letter to MBA members. “I am happy to share with you a change of my own. After nearly 25 years at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, I have moved on and will now serve as President of Colliers Mortgage, leading the team to build its business presence across the country.”
Rocco said he is honored to continue to serve as 2023 MBA Chairman. “My commitment to you and our industry has not changed,” he said in the letter. “There is a lot of work to do together, and I look forward to addressing the challenges and opportunities ahead to improve your business outcomes and help the renters, homeowners and homebuyers in the communities we serve.”
Colliers Mortgage CEO David Juran called the move a unique opportunity for his firm to bring on a seasoned senior executive that will help grow the company. Rocco will work from Charlotte, N.C.
Rocco graduated from the University of Alabama and worked in investment banking, bond issuance, underwriting and real estate asset management. He joined Charlotte-based Grandbridge in 1998.
Colliers Mortgage also hired Joe Lovell as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Lovell has more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate financing and has been responsible for servicing and operational areas including asset management, operations, business systems/IT, third-party loan closing and corporate initiatives during his career.
MISMO Names Jan Davis Acting President
MISMO®, the real estate finance industry standards organization, announced Vice President of Operations Jan Davis will serve as Acting President, following the departure of Seth Appleton, who will join U.S. Mortgage Insurers as President in early 2023.
“Seth has been an exemplary leader of MISMO, successfully guiding the organization in developing new standards that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate the mortgage industry’s digital transformation,” said Bob Broeksmit, CMB, Mortgage Bankers Association President and CEO. “MISMO’s momentum will continue unabated during the active search for its next President.”
Davis has served as MISMO’s Vice President of Operations for more than 10 years. Prior to that, she spent two decades at Fannie Mae, where she served as a director in Single-Family Loan Operations and Enterprise System Operations.

Sales Boomerang, Mortgage Coach add Casey Martin as Chief Revenue Officer
Sales Boomerang, Owings Mill, Md., and Mortgage Coach, Irvine, Calif., appointed Casey Martin chief revenue officer. He will oversee Sales Boomerang and Mortgage Coach’s sales and client services teams as they align under a shared vision and brand strategy.
Martin has more than a decade of executive-level experience leading revenue strategies for tech startups. As head of U.S. sales for SparkPost, he helped the email sending platform become the world’s largest deliverer of commercial email and attract a $600 million strategic acquisition by Amsterdarm-based MessageBird. Prior to joining SparkPost, he was head of sales at audience tracking firm AddThis, where he led the sales organization through the successful sale and transition of the business to Oracle. After the acquisition, he oversaw client partnerships for Oracle Data Clouds telecom, financial services and travel verticals.
IPA Adds Mark DeGiorgio to SoCal Office
Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap, announced Mark DeGiorgio joined IPA in El Segundo, Calif.
Previously a director with JLL, DeGiorgio joins IPA as senior director. In this role, he will execute both office and industrial property transactions on behalf of large private clients and institutional investors throughout Greater Los Angeles. DeGiorgio has 10 years of experience handling acquisition, disposition, equity placement, and debt transactions for clients, including PIMCO, EverWest, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Tishman Speyer, Angelo Gordon, SteelWave, UBS, TA Realty and Fortress Investment Group.
Stewart Expands in Nevada, Minnesota
Stewart Title, Houston, established a new National Commercial Services operation in Reno, Nev. The NCS team will consist of Cory Miller, Nevada State Sales Manager; Pam Becker, Senior Commercial Escrow Officer; and Anna Wilson, Commercial Escrow Assistant.
Before joining Stewart, Miller and Becker filled critical roles at First American Title, based in the greater Nevada area. Additionally, Miller has previously served as President of the Northern Nevada Chapter of NAIOP from January 2020 to January 2021.
Stewart Title also hired Tony Kamp as Vice President of Business Development for its Minnesota Direct Operations Commercial division. He is tasked with growing Stewart’s market share and strategically invest in bringing top talent and business to the state.
Kamp has more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining Stewart, he was with Commercial Partners Title LLC, one of the largest commercial real estate services providers in Minneapolis.
Ncontracts Promotes Cathy Guthrie Chief Human Resource Officer
Ncontracts, Brentwood, Tenn., promoted Cathy Guthrie to Chief Human Resource Officer. She has served as the EVP of Human Resources at Ncontracts since 2021.
Guthrie has more than 20 years of human resources experience. Previously, she served as the SVP of Human Resources at Unanet, a provider of ERP and ERM platforms. She also served as Chief People Officer at AlienVault and Vice President of People at SpareFoot.
