FHFA Extends COVID-19 Multifamily Forbearance through June 30

The Federal Housing Finance Agency announced Thursday that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will continue to offer COVID-19 forbearance to qualifying multifamily property owners through June 30, subject to the continued tenant protections FHFA imposed during the pandemic. The programs were set to expire March 31.

FHFA Releases 2021 Scorecard for GSEs, Common Securitization Solutions

The Federal Housing Finance Agency last week released the 2021 Scorecard for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Common Securitization Solutions. The 2021 Scorecard aligns the 2019 Strategic Plan with the Enterprises’ tactical priorities and operations, serving as an essential tool to hold the Enterprises accountable.

MBA: Share of Loans in Forbearance Unchanged at 5.38%

The Mortgage Bankers Association’s latest Forbearance and Call Volume Survey reported loans now in forbearance remained unchanged at 5.38% of servicers’ portfolio volume as of January 24. MBA estimates 2.7 million homeowners are in forbearance plans.

The Mortgage Bankers Association’s latest Forbearance and Call Volume Survey reported loans now in forbearance decreased to 5.46% of servicers’ portfolio volume as of Jan. 3 compared to 5.46% the prior week. MBA estimates 2.7 million homeowners are in forbearance plans.
