Jumbo Mortgages Gain Originations Share in Second Quarter

The jumbo share of residential mortgage originations increased from 16.4% in the first quarter of 2026 to 18.8% in the second quarter, according to a new ranking and analysis by Inside Mortgage Finance. That’s the highest share for jumbo mortgages since late 2022.
