CFPB Amicus Brief Seeks HEI Credit Regulation, But Unlikely Without Changes

In the Amicus Brief filed last week by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for a lawsuit against Unlock Partnership Solutions, the regulator is attempting to make home-equity investment contracts subject to the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z. But the CFPB will likely have to amend the regulations through the rule making process in order to accomplish this.
