MISMO Seeks Public Comment on Two Issues
MISMO®, the real estate finance industry’s standards organization, is seeking public comment on two issues, the previously published IRS 4506-C dataset and the Ability to Repay Decision Model and Notation white paper.
First, MISMO asks for public comment on a revision to the previously published IRS 4506-C dataset. The 30-day public comment period runs through May 4, 2024.
MISMO’s revised dataset provides an updated standard set of data points that map to Form 4506-C, which is used for requesting tax transcripts from the IRS. The revised dataset, accompanied by a sample XML file as well as a numbered form, demonstrates the necessary structure for implementing the dataset using the MISMO v3.5 reference model. Together, this information package will provide lenders and vendors a MISMO-standard method for completing IRS Form 4506-C.
The public comment period allows those who participated in the proposal at least 30 days’ notice prior to final release to review and disclose any applicable Patent Rights (as defined by MISMO’s 2018 Intellectual Property Rights Policy).
MISMO requests that any organization that may have any patent or patent applications, or other intellectual property rights that might be infringed upon by an organization that uses or is compliant with these proposed MISMO products to disclose them at this time in writing. All comments and disclosures are due by May 4, 2024, and should be directed to info@mismo.org.
MISMO also asks for comment on a new white paper entitled, The Ability to Repay Decision Model and Notation. The 60-day public comment period runs through May 31, 2024.
The Ability to Repay Decision Model and Notation White Paper demonstrates how decision modeling and notation language can be used with the MISMO Logical Data Model (LDM). The white paper presents a use case for decision modeling using Regulation Z data points and the MISMO Version 3.5 Reference Model. Once the data points have been defined in a decision modeling tool, it can be automated to make a decision based on the data inputs. That output can then be converted into a MISMO compliant application programming interface (API) response, depending on the user’s technology environment. Decision Model and Notation (DMN™) is an Object Management Group® (OMG®) standard that defines how decision logic is expressed within a business process.
The public comment period allows those who participated in the proposal at least 60-days’ notice prior to final release to review and disclose any applicable Patent Rights (as defined by MISMO’s 2018 Intellectual Property Rights Policy).
MISMO requests that any organization that may have any patent or patent applications, or other intellectual property rights that might be infringed upon by an organization that uses or is compliant with these proposed MISMO products to disclose them at this time in writing. All comments and disclosures are due by May 31, 2024, and should be directed to info@mismo.org.
