MBA Holds Firm on FHFA Not Regulating GSE Lenders

The Mortgage Bankers Association endorsed FHFA’s three main goals: safety and soundness, more equitable and sustainable housing and improving FHFA’s infrastructure. But the trade group reiterated its concerns about FHFA’s desire for direct examination authority over nonbank seller/servicers, a move MBA said would confer on the agency powers not shared by other financial regulators.
