CHoMillerThe CMCP designation, created by MBA Education and the MBA Compliance Essentials program, iks the only such certification for compliance professionals in the real estate finance industry. It is designed to create a standard of excellence for mortgage compliance professionals. Level One of the CMCP program, launched in April, comprises 18-self-paced courses (30 training hours) through interactive scenarios, interviews with industry experts and testing compliance staff.

“This will allow companies and training managers assess their staff on the fundamental concepts in mortgage compliance,” Cho-Miller said.

As a member of the CMCP Advisory Council, Cho-Miller said it’s important for the compliance industry to have a measurement of proficiency. “Working in compliance supports the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s [belief] that staff training is critical for a sound compliance management system,” she said. “Having this accessible and affordable training program will allow these compliance officers to meet this requirement.”
