MBA Launches Servicing Transfer Matrix Member Service

The Mortgage Bankers Association launched the MBA Servicing Transfer Matrix, a new member benefit to help MBA members navigate the regulations, investor standards and suggested practice governing servicing transfers.

The matrix contains suggestions for GSE, Ginnie Mae and private-label servicing transfers as well as a section relating to the CFPB’s guidance on the subject and suggested document checklists. It contains the following sections:

–Fannie Mae: Guidance for Servicing Transfers and Document Deliveries
–Freddie Mac: Guidance for Servicing Transfers and Document Deliveries
–Ginnie Mae: Guidance for Servicing Transfers and Document Deliveries
–Private and Commercial: Guidance for Servicing Transfers and Document Deliveries
–MERS: Guidance for Servicing Transfers and Document Deliveries
–Servicing Transfer Document Checklist

The Matrix was assembled through consensus input from MBA members, investors and outside counsel to assist MBA members in better understanding and structuring servicing transfers. The matrix is current as of the date listed. The Matrix was created under the guise of the MBA Servicing Transfer Work Group, chaired by Dave Pauken.

“We hope that this will be a valuable resource for MBA members,” said MBA President and CEO David Stevens, CMB.
