MBA: November New Home Purchase Mortgage Applications Increased 3.1%

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Builder Application Survey (BAS) data for November 2025 shows mortgage applications for new home purchases increased 3.1% from a year ago. Compared to October 2025, applications decreased by 7%. This change does not include any adjustment for typical seasonal patterns.

Commercial/Multifamily Borrowing Up in the Fourth Quarter of 2024, MBA Reports

Commercial and multifamily mortgage loan originations were 84% higher in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to a year earlier, and increased 30% from the third quarter of 2024, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Quarterly Survey of Commercial/Multifamily Mortgage Bankers Originations, released Feb. 10 at the 2025 Commercial/Multifamily Finance Convention and Expo.

BLS: Jobs Close to Flat in October

Total nonfarm payroll inched up by just 12,000 in October, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1%, per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

BLS: 254,000 Jobs Added in September

The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced 254,000 jobs were added in September, with the unemployment level still relatively flat at 4.1%.
