House, Senate Pass $1.5T Omnibus Bill (MBA Statement)

The House late Wednesday passed a $1.5 trillion omnibus spending package to fund the federal government. Mortgage Bankers Association President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB, issued a statement following the bill’s passage.

On Tuesday, the House voted to adopt a $3.5 trillion budget resolution framework for Fiscal Year 2022. Also on Tuesday, MBA submitted a joint coalition letter to HUD on its disparate impact rule.

House Democrats decided last week that the proximity of 435 Members—some wearing face masks, some defiantly not—was not prudent, particularly in a city that saw its highest death tolls yet from the coronavirus over the past several days.
