#MBAAnnual26 Session Profile: Hear Directly From Federal Housing Officials
Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for an important general session with The Honorable Joseph Gormley, President of Ginnie Mae, and Matt Jones, recently nominated by the White House to be FHA Commissioner.
Joseph M. Gormley was confirmed by the United States Senate on Dec. 18, 2025, to serve as Ginnie Mae’s 19th President. He previously served as Ginnie Mae’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As Ginnie Mae president, Gormley leads the agency’s mission to connect the U.S. housing market with global capital markets, helping to provide low-cost financing for federal housing programs and make affordable housing more accessible to millions of Americans.
President Donald Trump recently nominated Matt Jones, currently Department of Housing and Urban Development Deputy Assistant Secretary for Single-Family Housing, to serve as HUD Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Administration Commissioner. If confirmed, Jones would oversee both FHA’s multifamily/health care and single-family mortgage insurance programs.
An MBA alum, Jones previously served as Associate Vice President for Government Housing Finance, where he oversaw MBA’s government lending portfolio and managed its Residential Board of Governors. He was previously senior advisor for capital markets at Amerifirst Home Mortgage and a senior U.S. Senate staffer, serving as Senior Counsel to both the Senate Banking and Finance Committees under Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho).
