MAXEX Hires John McNeill as CFO
MAXEX, Atlanta, has appointed John McNeill as chief financial officer.
McNeill will lead the company’s financial strategy, including capital formation, capital deployment, financial operations and corporate growth initiatives.
He has more than two decades of finance, accounting and capital markets experience across the mortgage finance, fintech and asset management industries. He previously held positions with Ocwen Financial Corp. and Home Loan Servicing Solutions, as well as most recently serving as CFO of Spring Oaks Capital.
SimplyPMG Promotes Fernando Ospina to Chief Production Officer
SimplyPMG, Las Vegas, has promoted Fernando Ospina to chief production officer. He will lead recruitment, retention and internal development efforts.
Ospina brings a history of growth and leadership to the role; he rose through the ranks beginning as a branch manager.
He also served as a regional manager, senior vice president of national production and president of retail lending at the firm.
Logan Finance Chooses Mark Luzi as Western Managing Director of Sales
Logan Finance Corp., Happauge, N.Y., announced the appointment of Mark Luzi as Western managing director of sales.
Luzi has nearly three decades of consumer finance and mortgage sales experience.
He most recently served as division sales manager, West, at LendSure. He has also worked for Accredited Home Lenders and Ford Consumer Finance.
MMBBA Remembers Past President Michael Sterner
The Maryland Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association remembers Michael Sterner, former president, who passed away June 1.
Sterner became involved with MMBBA beginning in 1985, serving as PAC Chair and then as president from 1997-1998. He received numerous awards and recognitions from the organization.
He served as a senior account executive for MGIC and president and CEO of Susquehanna Mortgage Corp., as president and CEO of Mortgage Department Services (which he founded) and was executive vice president at Provident State Bank.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie, his brother, Thomas Sterner, and his family.
