The CONVERGENCE Knowledge Hub

The Mortgage Bankers Association and the CONVERGENCE Collaborative have introduced the CONVERGENCE Knowledge Hub, a resource designed to equip housing professionals with insights, tools and practical resources to expand opportunities for aspiring homebuyers.

The CONVERGENCE Knowledge Hub brings together a wide range of resources including case studies highlighting successful solutions, research, templates and tools within an accessible platform for housing professionals. A key feature of the platform is the City Data Dashboard, an interactive tool that provides insights into local housing market conditions and trends, helping stakeholders better understand challenges and inform decision-making.

The CONVERGENCE Knowledge Hub is built on the solutions and lessons learned from CONVERGENCE, which was established in 2019. CONVERGENCE is MBA’s affordable housing initiative focused on increasing homeownership opportunities through innovative community partnerships. The initiative addresses four key barriers–the information gap, trust gap, resource gap and market gap–challenges that can hinder consumers’ ability to achieve and sustain homeownership. CONVERGENCE currently operates place-based initiatives in Memphis, Tenn.; Columbus, Ohio; Philadelphia; and Baltimore.

Rather than prescribing a uniform approach, CONVERGENCE emphasizes locally driven strategies that reflect the specific needs and conditions of each community. Solutions developed through these efforts span areas such as homebuyer education and outreach, lending programs and products, housing supply through new construction and rehabilitation and long-term sustainability and preservation.

The CONVERGENCE Knowledge Hub extends the impact of CONVERGENCE by making field-tested strategies and insights available to a broader audience. Designed for housing professionals across the ecosystem – including lenders, housing counselors, real estate practitioners, and others – the platform provides actionable guidance grounded in real-world experience.

As the CONVERGENCE network continues to grow, the Knowledge Hub serves as a critical bridge between local innovation and national learning. By capturing and sharing proven approaches, it enables practitioners to replicate effective strategies, adapt them to their own markets, and accelerate progress toward expanding access to sustainable homeownership.
