Former MBA Chair Debra W. Still Announces Retirement From Pulte Financial Services

PulteGroup, Atlanta, announced that Debra W. Still, CMB, Vice Chair of Pulte Financial Services, will retire at the end of the year.

Still has spent 42 years with the firm, beginning as a Branch Manager in 1983. She served as President of Pulte Mortgage beginning in 2004, CEO of Pulte Financial Services from 2010-2023 and then transitioned to her current role as Vice Chair.

Under her leadership, Pulte Financial Services grew to encompass Pulte Mortgage, PGP Title and Pulte Insurance Agency.

In 2013, Still became the second woman to serve as Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

“Deb Still’s industry leadership as the second female MBA Chair in 2013 has left a lasting mark on the mortgage finance community,” said MBA President and CEO Bob Broeksmit, CMB. “She was front and center advocating for policies to support responsible growth for all lender types during a time of significant regulatory change in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Her ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders strengthened MBA’s and the industry’s voice in Washington, and her commitment to mentorship and elevating the next generation of leaders ensures that her impact will be felt for years to come.”

Still also currently serves as Chairman of MBA’s Opens Doors Foundation, which provides mortgage and rental payment assistance to families with children who are critically ill or injured. Still has been involved with Opens Doors since its inception.

“To say that Deb has had an extraordinary 42-year career with Pulte captures only part of her legacy. Another part rests with the 18,000 Opens Doors families who have been the beneficiaries of Deb’s generosity, sheer will and tenacious commitment to our mission of keeping families with critically ill or injured children in their homes while their children are in treatment,” said Deborah Dubois, President of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation. “I am deeply grateful that Deb will continue in her role as Chair of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation Board of Directors, ensuring that families caring for a sick child will have a home to go to when their medical crisis ends.”

In 2014, she also received MBA’s Andrew D. Woodward Distinguished Service Award.

Still will continue her board service with Chimera Investment Corp. and Enact Holdings Inc., and maintain her involvement in various housing industry organizations, PulteGroup said.

“Looking back on these four decades, what I’m most grateful for are the relationships made within Pulte and the broader industry. Colleagues who became lifelong friends, industry partners who shared our vision, regulators and Washington, D.C. decision makers, and of course the countless families and individuals we’ve had the privilege to serve,” said Still in a release. “Pulte gave me the chance to grow, to lead and to make a real difference.”
