New MBA Chair: “Education is Critical”

The Mortgage Bankers Association swore in a new Board of Directors during its 2024 Annual Convention & Expo over the weekend.

Laura Escobar was named the MBA’s 2025 Chairperson. A 37-year industry veteran, Escobar has held various leadership positions with bank-owned and independent mortgage companies.

Joining her on the Board are M&T Realty Capital Corporation (RCC) Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer, and Chief Operations Officer Christine Chandler, and Success Mortgage Partners, Inc., (SMP) Chief Executive Officer Owen Lee, who were also sworn in yesterday as Chair-Elect and Vice Chair, respectively.
