MBA Opens Doors Foundation Raises $220,000 During MBA’s Chairman’s Conference

The MBA Opens Doors Foundation announced that it raised $220,000 at its Annual Charity Wine Auction during MBA’s Chairman’s Conference in Santa Barbara, Calif. The proceeds will support the Foundation’s mission of providing mortgage and rental assistance to families with critically ill or injured children, allowing parents and guardians to be by a child’s side during treatment without fear of losing their home.

“Each year at our Annual Charity Wine Auction, we invite MBA members to gather for a night of fun in support of the Opens Doors mission,” said Debra W. Still, CMB, Vice Chairman of Pulte Financial Services and Chair of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation Board of Directors. “It was deeply gratifying to see so many industry colleagues team up to raise $220,000 to help keep families with critically ill or injured children in their homes while their child is in treatment. Their generosity embodies the leadership of our industry and the spirit of the Opens Doors mission.”

The Annual Charity Wine Auction was launched in 2019 by CMG Financial President, CEO and Founder Chris George. This year’s auction was led by Host Committee Co-Chairs James Deitch, Senior Partner with Stratmor Group, Co-Founder of Teraverde Management Advisors and Opens Doors Director; and Nolan Turner, Managing Director, Carrington Holding Company.

“The Annual Charity Wine Auction has quickly become a signature event for the Foundation, thanks to generous donors,” said Deborah Dubois, President of the MBA Opens Doors Foundation. “What is so beautiful is that even as the market remains challenging for our industry, the spirit and motivation to help families less fortunate than their own is as strong as it ever was.”

MBA Opens Doors Foundation has provided nearly $25 million in mortgage and rental payment assistance to more than 16,000 families since its founding in 2011, making it a critical part of a family’s support structure while their child is in treatment. Grants of up to $2,000 are made monthly to families with a child in treatment at one of the Foundation’s network of 13 children’s hospitals.
