MISMO Honors Annual Award Recipients at 2024 Winter Summit
MISMO, the real estate finance industry’s standards organization, announced the recipients of its MISMO Awards program during its 2024 Winter Summit.
The MISMO Awards program recognizes the volunteer contributors for their efforts to advance MISMO standards, increase participation and support the organization.
“We are grateful to all of our volunteers who work with MISMO and are especially pleased to recognize this group of extraordinary professionals for lending their time and expertise to solving challenges for the benefit of the entire industry,” said David Coleman, President of MISMO.
MISMO presented its Standards Champion Award to Jon Pain, Actualize Consulting. This award recognizes an individual who made substantial contributions towards advancing MISMO standards. Pain made significant contributions to the mortgage finance industry through his work on the Data Governance and Management (DG&M) Program Implementation Resource Package. The DG&M Program Implementation Resource Package, published in July 2023, is a comprehensive set of templates, guides, and educational resources that can be used to establish a Data Governance Program within an organization.
The Outstanding Contributor award is presented from the MISMO staff to the person or people who stood out over the course of the past year with their contribution to the organization. This award was presented to Camelia Martin, Snapdocs, who served as chair of the Remote Online Notarization (RON) and eVault Standards workgroups and was instrumental in getting the e-Vault standards published. She has led multiple MISMO workgroups and served as a member of MISMO’s Residential Governance Committee.
MISMO’s Chairman’s Award honors an individual who has made a substantial contribution over an extended period to the advancement of the organization and/or the standards and is selected by the Chairs of each of MISMO’s committees. Charlie Epperson, Chief Product Officer at Stavvy, was honored with MISMO’s Chairman’s Award for his continued service to the industry. Not only has Epperson led efforts to develop and maintain standards, he has also volunteered to share and promote awareness and knowledge of MISMO through his engagement with MISMO education. Epperson has been actively engaged in MISMO education for the past eight years, with the past six serving as Chair of MISMO’s Education Council.
This year, MISMO also recognized the enormous contributions from Randy “R2” Poirier, particularly his leadership of MISMO’s Residential Standards Governance Committee for the past seven years.
MISMO’s work to solve key business challenges is made possible due to lender support of the MISMO Innovation Investment Fee. For information on MISMO and how to join visit MISMO.org.
