MBA Education School of Loan Origination Online Course Starts Jan. 8

MBA Education’s School of Loan Origination is a live, instructor-guided online course designed to provide an in-depth working knowledge of how to originate residential mortgage loans. In a series of 12 two-hour webinars, the course explains how to originate compliant and quality-based mortgage loans to minimize risk of repurchase and reduce the number of “touches” on the file.

The course begins with an overview of the mortgage lending industry and the originator’s activities and responsibilities within the industry. Subsequent topics include: how to take a complete and accurate loan application; regulations that govern origination activities; loan options, credit reporting, and credit scoring; review of supporting documentation; review of tax returns and calculation of qualifying income; traditional and non-traditional mortgage products; pricing and rate locks; structuring mortgage loan transactions; and marketing strategies. The course concludes with a series of case studies that allows the student to practice the skills and calculations required to be a successful originator.
