MISMO Earns 2023 HousingWire Tech100 Award for 3rd Straight Year
MISMO®, the real estate finance industry standards organization, was awarded for the third-straight year a 2023 HousingWire Tech100 award. This award recognizes the most innovative technology organizations in the housing economy. HousingWire editors acknowledged MISMO’s work to create standards that address the industry’s toughest business issues.

MISMO rose to the occasion and met the needs of the real estate finance industry in 2022. Highlights included standardizing APIs for efficiently trading smaller packages of data, developing a new Verifiable Profile SMART Doc® specification that restores trust in data and introducing new commercial standards, and releasing an updated version of the MISMO Reference Model, which is the foundation for most standards today and will shape every new API, dataset, and SMART Doc® in the coming years.
Beyond the numerous standards and essential resources already published, MISMO is making significant progress on many additional high priority initiatives, including the standardization of servicing transfers; standardized datasets to ease friction in lender to title and closing partner communications; standards to improve efficiency and scalability in the Private-Label RMBS and Agency MBS markets; a standard for exchanging housing counseling data among counselors, lenders, servicers, GSEs and government agencies; and a standard for exchanging loan examination file data between state regulators and lenders regulated by them.
