MBA NewsLink interviewed Cecilia Collins, Business Control Director at Cenlar, about her experience with the MBA Path to Diversity Scholarship Program.
MBA NewsLink: How did you learn about the MBA Path to Diversity Program?
I heard about the program through my peers. However, with the support of Lynn Tarantino, Chief Control Officer at Cenlar FSB, she encouraged me to apply for the Path to Diversity Scholarship to broaden my knowledge about mortgage servicing.
NewsLink: What inspired you to become more involved? Did a co-worker/supervisor/mentor encourage your participation?
I have always been goal-driven individual with an insatiable desire to learn more. I’m inspired to become more involved in the MBA as I see the impact it has on many professionals in the industry. I’m grateful to have been encouraged and supported in my participation in Path to Diversity and MBA’s educational programs by Lynn’s leadership.
NewsLink: Did you find the application process to be user-friendly?
The application process was easy and effortless.
NewsLink: How has the Path to Diversity scholarship benefited you, personally and professionally? What have you been able to bring back to your company as a result of the Path to Diversity program?
I plan to use my scholarship for the School of Mortgage Banking course in the fall and I’m looking forward to advancing my career through learning and development while sharing knowledge with my peers and other like-minded individuals.
NewsLink: What would you say to someone considering applying for a Path to Diversity scholarship?
Just do it. Take every opportunity to Invest in yourself and expand your knowledge as it will certainly elevate your career and personal life to the next level.

The Path to Diversity Scholarship Program recognizes existing industry professionals who are seeking to advance their careers through continuing education. Recipients receive a voucher to cover course registration fees, up to a maximum of $2,000, for popular MBA Education courses and designation programs.
