The Week Ahead, Jan. 17, 2023: Housing Reports Take Center Stage

Good morning and happy Tuesday; we hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend. Here’s what’s happening this week:

First MBA Reports. The Mortgage Bankers Association has a busy week, starting this morning with its 4th Quarter CREF Loan Performance Survey, with commentary and analysis from MBA Head of Commercial Real Estate Research Jamie Woodwell.

And on Wednesday, Jan. 18, MBA issues its Weekly Applications Survey, with MBA Vice President and Deputy Chief Economist Joel Kan providing commentary and analysis.

And on Thursday, Jan. 19, MBA releases its monthly Builder Applications Survey, with Kan providing commentary and analysis.

Looking ahead, MBA will issue its monthly Loan Monitoring Survey on Monday, Jan. 23, with commentary and analysis from MBA Vice President of Industry Analysis Marina Walsh, CMB. And on Thursday, Jan. 26, MBA will issue its monthly Purchase Applications Payment Index—PAPI—with commentary and analysis from MBA Associate Vice President of Housing Economics Edward Seiler.
