The Mortgage Bankers Association presented its annual Burton C. Wood Legislative Service Award to Nicole Booth, CEO of QC Ally LLC, Boston.
The award is given annually to an MBA member employee in recognition of his or her sustained superior service to the association and the real estate finance industry. MBA presented Booth with the award at its 2023 National Advocacy Conference.
“Nicole has been an enthusiastic supporter of MBA’s advocacy efforts for many years and truly deserves to be the 2023 recipient of this honor and award,” said Matt Rocco, 2023 MBA Chairman and President of Colliers Mortgage, Charlotte, N.C. “With tremendous passion and leadership, Nicole has been instrumental in helping to advance key legislative priorities on behalf of the industry, including her partnership with MBA members and staff on the successful combined state and federal advocacy campaign to permit the use of remote online notarization in real estate transactions these past few years.”
Booth is an active Mortgage Action Alliance member, a top Mortgage Bankers Association Political Action Committee contributor, company campaign leader and committee member, and a strong ally of mPower, MBA’s leading networking organization for women in real estate finance. She is also a frequent sponsor and attendee of MBA conferences, including the association’s annual NAC.
The award is named after MBA’s late Legislative Counsel Burton C. Wood, who devoted more than 30 years of service to MBA’s advocacy efforts. Wood was the first recipient of the award in 1990, and his lobbying skills gained the respect and attention of both Republicans and Democrats alike. He passed away in 2010.
