CONVERGENCE Memphis Inc. Names Doreen Graves Executive Director

CONVERGENCE Memphis Inc. named Doreen Graves Executive Director, responsible for leading efforts to strengthen ties within the local Memphis community to promote affordable housing and increase Black homeownership. She will join CONVERGENCE Memphis Inc. on April 17.

“Doreen is passionate about enriching the Memphis community and has demonstrated strong leadership skills throughout her career as an executive and affordable housing advocate,” said Steve O’Connor, the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Senior Vice President for Affordable Housing Initiatives. “CONVERGENCE Memphis Inc. strives to improve and promote opportunities for minority homeownership and Doreen will play an integral role in leading those efforts.”

Graves most recently served as the West Tennessee Liaison for the Tennessee Housing Development Agency and was responsible for promoting production and rehabilitation of homes in 26 counties as part of the organization’s industry and government affairs team. She also has 20 years of executive experience in the broadcast media industry.

“I am excited for Doreen’s opportunity to lead CONVERGENCE Memphis, as I have seen firsthand her strong leadership ability and passion for promoting homeownership in the city and throughout Tennessee,” said THDA Executive Director Ralph Perrey. “Doreen is devoted to her work, and I am confident she will excel in her new position.”

Launched in March 2020, CONVERGENCE Memphis is an initiative led by MBA and the THDA to increase Black homeownership in Memphis. CONVERGENCE Memphis Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization created to help fulfil that mission. CONVERGENCE Memphis has made significant strides in amplifying existing local resources and deploying additional national and state resources such as hosting homebuyer fairs, offering financial education courses, and providing affordable housing practitioners the tools they need to improve their outreach strategies to reach aspiring homeowners.

Brad Cargile

Cenlar FSB Taps Brad Cargile, Marlon Groen, Jennifer Rowen

Cenlar FSB, Ewing, N.J., appointed Brad Cargile Vice President of IT Infrastructure, Marlon Groen as Chief Compliance Officer and promoted Jennifer Rowen to Senior Vice President of Core Operations.

Cargile is responsible for implementing and servicing management of all technology infrastructure deployed at Cenlar, including data center, network and server services, telephony, service monitoring, user support/help desk, workstation management, servers, storage and related software. He has 30 years in systems infrastructure, data center migrations, system virtualization and consolidation. Prior to joining Cenlar, he was at Fidelity National Information Services where he served as Technology Strategy Director. He was also Vice President of Systems Infrastructure at GMAC Mortgage/Ally Bank.

Marlon Groen

Prior to joining Cenlar, Groen was Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for AHP Servicing. He also worked at PHH for 11 years where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer. At PHH, he also served as Vice President and Head of Regulatory Affairs before transitioning to compliance. He was also Vice President and Senior Counsel at Sovereign Bank and Vice President, Senior Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Arlington Capital Mortgage Corp.

Jennifer Rowen

Rowen brings more than 24 years of banking experience. In her new role, she is responsible for oversight of Investor Reporting, Bank Operations, Payoffs, Satisfactions, Insurance, Escrow, Tax and Transfer Operations. She previously served as the company’s Chief Compliance Officer. Before joining Cenlar in 2016, she was Vice President and Compliance Officer for The Bryn Mawr Trust Company, and Compliance Officer for Continental Bank. She is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

Greg Dalgarno

Greg Dalgarno Joins Embrace Home Loans’ Maryland Branch as Sales Manager

Embrace Home Loans, Middletown, R.I., named Greg Dalgarno manager of the company’s Timonium, Md. Hewill focus on growing the branch and will specialize in new construction home loans in Maryland and the mid-Atlantic region.

Dalgarno has more than 20 years of mortgage industry experience and has been a top-producing originator and sales manager at Guaranteed Rate and Wells Fargo. He increased overall sales and worked closely with home builders at both companies.

David Jenkins

WFG National Title Insurance Taps David Jenkins, Tim Hooper as SVPs

WFG National Title Insurance Co., Portland, Ore., appointed David Jenkins as Senior Vice President and National Agency Manager and promoted Tim Hooper to Senior Vice President and Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager for the company’s Agency Operations.

Jenkins returns to WFG, where he served as Senior National Agency Underwriting Counsel from 2017 to 2020. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for supporting WFG’s more than 1,700 agents, driving expansion for both new and existing national and regional agents and leveraging the extensive resources WFG makes available to its agents to help them increase their market share.

In his expanded role within WFG’s Agency Operations, Hooper will be responsible for recruiting top talent to support the growing number of agents turning to WFG in this unprecedented market. He will also be responsible for enhancing and implementing systems, processes and sales solutions in support of WFG’s agent partners, strengthening the dialogue with industry associations and government entities, and speaking at industry events across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Scott Thurman Joins CBRE as Head of FHA Lending

CBRE, Dallas, said Scott Thurman has joined CBRE Capital Markets as Senior Managing Director and Head of Federal Housing Administration Lending, responsible for overseeing CBRE’s underwriting and loan production teams nationwide that originate, service and fund FHA-insured loans.

Thurman has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and specializes in the underwriting and origination of affordable and market rate transactions, involving multifamily and healthcare developments. He has overseen the underwriting of more than $7 billion in FHA-insured loans during his career. He joins CBRE from Greystone, where he served as Head of Production for the firm’s FHA Healthcare platform. He has previously served as Chief Credit Officer and Chief Underwriter during a career that began at HUD.

Westcor Land Title Insurance Co., Maitland, Fla., named AnnMarie Arens as a Regional Sales Manager in the Midwest region.

Arens is a title industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in residential title insurance sales and marketing to realtors and lenders as well as commercial transactions. Her experience also includes more than 16 years of working exclusively in the agency space supporting title agents across the Midwest. She also actively participates in several industry associations.
