Brokers Steamed at Fannie Mae Over TPO Fee

The mortgage industry has stepped up its criticism of a 15-basis-point fee that Fannie Mae charges for broker-originated loans. The fee, which went into effect a little over a year ago, so far has cost brokers roughly $279 million, according to industry estimates.
