MISMO®, the real estate finance industry standards organization, seeks public comment on a new Flood Risk Disclosure Resource Guide. The guide is designed to help homeowners and industry participants understand potential flood risks by listing publicly available resources, factors, and information that may be useful.

“A broad cross-section of the mortgage industry, through MISMO, collaborated on this effort to create a list of publicly available resources for consumers and practitioners on potential flood risks,” said Seth Appleton, President of MISMO. “We welcome and look forward to feedback from all stakeholders and the public on this guide.”

MISMO’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Community of Practice (CoP) collaborated with industry partners to create the Flood Risk Disclosure Resource Guide. This guide will help consumers access resources that may provide useful information on flood risks in the context of home purchase or home equity lending.

This public comment period allows those who participated on the proposals 60 days’ notice prior to final release to review and disclose any applicable Patent Rights (as defined by MISMO’s 2018 Intellectual Property Rights Policy).

MISMO requests any organization that may have any patent or patent applications, or other intellectual property rights that might be infringed upon by an organization that uses or is compliant with these proposed MISMO products, to disclose them at this time in writing. All comments and disclosures are due by December 19, and should be directed to info@mismo.org
