The Week Ahead, Oct. 17, 2022: Countdown to MBA Annual22 and 4 Other Things to Know

Good morning, and happy Monday! We have a lot happening over the next two weeks, so let’s get started!

First, MBA Annual22. The MBA Annual Convention & Expo—the biggest real estate finance industry event of the year—is less than a week away, taking place Oct. 23-26 at the Music City Center in Nashville.

MBA Annual22 kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 22 with the annual mPowering Youevent, then rumbles in earnest on Sunday Oct. 23 with a breathtaking pace of General Sessions, Breakout Sessions and special events. More than 130 exhibitors will be in THE HUB Expo Hall and more than 2,000 real estate finance professionals are expected to attend.

Academy Award-winning actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno; former House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis.; and legendary basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will deliver keynote remarks. And Concert MBA this year features Darius Rucker.

Look for three special eShow Guide issues of MBA NewsLink this week: today, Oct. 17; Wednesday, Oct. 19; and Friday, Oct. 21. All three issues will arrive in your inbox shortly after noon ET.

And next week, look for special on-site coverage of MBA Annual22 with special afternoon editions of MBA NewsLink on Monday, Oct. 24 and Tuesday, Oct. 25 (1:00 p.m. ET).

Second, MBA Reports. Ahead of Annual22, MBA this week releases a slew of informative reports, starting this morning (Monday, Oct. 17) with the MBA Commercial/Multifamily Mortgage Delinquency Report, featuring commentary and analysis from MBA Vice President of Commercial/Multifamily Research & Economics Jamie Woodwell.

Also on Monday (4:00 p.m. ET), MBA releases its monthly Loan Monitoring Survey (formerly the MBA Forbearance & Call Center Survey), with commentary and analysis from MBA Vice President of Industry Analysis Marina Walsh, CMB.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18 (9:00 a.m. ET), MBA releases its monthly Builder Applications Survey, with commentary and analysis from MBA Vice President and Deputy Chief Economist Joel Kan.

On Wednesday, Oct. 19, MBA releases its Weekly Applications Survey, with Kan again providing commentary and analysis.

Also this week: look for announcements from MBA CONVERGENCE, the MBA Opens Doors Foundation and MISMO.
