The Week Ahead, Oct. 10, 2022: 5 Things to Know
Good morning, and welcome to another week. MBA offices are open today (Columbus Day), but if you’re observing the holiday and reading this a day later—Happy Tuesday. Here’s what’s happening this week:
First, MBA Annual22. The MBA Annual Convention & Expo—the biggest real estate finance industry event of the year—is less than two weeks away, taking place Oct. 23-26 at the Music City Center in Nashville.
MBA Annual22 kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 22 with the annual mPowering Youevent, then kicks off in earnest on Sunday Oct. 23 with a breathtaking pace of General Sessions, Breakout Sessions and special events. More than 130 exhibitors will be in THE HUB Expo Hall and more than 2,000 real estate finance professionals are expected to attend.
Academy Award-winning actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno; former House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis.; and legendary basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will deliver keynote remarks. And Concert MBA this year features Darius Rucker.

Second, MBA Reports. It’s another busy week for MBA, with the monthly MBA Mortgage Credit Availability Index coming out this Tuesday, Oct. 11. MBA Associate Vice President of Economic and Industry Forecasting Joel Kan will provide commentary and analysis.
The MBA Weekly Applications Survey comes out on Wednesday, Oct. 12, with Kan again providing commentary and analysis.
