MBA Launches Commercial Real Estate Finance Student Fellowship Program
The Mortgage Bankers Association launched a new fellowship program for students from underrepresented groups interested in learning more about internships, jobs and careers in the $4 trillion commercial real estate finance industry.
The inaugural Commercial Real Estate Finance Careers Student Fellowship program is designed to help students learn more about the commercial real estate finance industry and to connect students with leading professionals who can help them thrive in this industry. Students will interact with industry leaders, learn about the ins-and-outs of the industry and experience first-hand what makes the industry so exciting.
The fellowship includes:
Monthly virtual seminars with industry leaders/professionals: each month, Student Fellows will participate in an intimate virtual seminar with industry leaders to discuss the ins-and-outs of the industry. The seminars will provide an opportunity for fellows to learn, connect and network. Topics will range from industry structure to dissecting a deal to a discussion on hot policy topics and more.
Career coaching from Human Resources professionals at leading commercial real estate firms: Fellows will have access to HR professionals at leading commercial real estate finance firms to discuss internship, job and career opportunities, best practices in applying for jobs, career advice and more.
Mentorship opportunities with top commercial real estate finance professionals: Fellows will be exposed to professionals at various commercial real estate finance firms and opportunities to develop mentor relationships with them.
A trip to MBA’s 2023 Commercial Real Estate Finance Convention in San Diego: Fellows will be registered for MBA’s Commercial Real Estate Finance Convention in San Diego, the largest gathering of CREF professionals in the nation, and provided a stipend for travel, lodging and expenses while there. While at the CREF convention, Fellows will be paired with CREF professionals to experience the industry first-hand. Fellows will also gather for special sessions with guest speakers and networking.
An Apple iPad: Each Fellow will be given an Apple iPad to assist in seminars and other activities.
