Homebuilders Face Headwinds on Multiple Fronts

The impact of inflation and interest-rate movements is leaving its mark on homebuilders, sending both industry sentiment and mortgage volumes of newly constructed homes down to their lowest point in over two years. New-home applications in June fell 10% on a monthly basis and 12% year over year, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association Builder Application survey.
