By all appearances, 2022 could be another banner year for the mortgage industry, particularly for purchase mortgages. Employment is rising as the U.S. economy continues to rebound from the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic. Demand for housing remains strong and purchase loan originations could even reach record levels.
